U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Keith Bochert, an explosive ordnance disposal technician, screens material during recovery operations in Vietnam, March 12, 2025. U.S. military and civilian personnel from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency work with its in-country detachment, the U.S. Embassy, local partners, and the Vietnamese Office for Seeking Missing Persons to support the recovery mission. They are supplemented by short-term individual augmentees from U.S. Army units including the 102nd Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Enhanced Response Force Package, Oregon National Guard, and the 21st Infantry Regiment; and U.S. Air Force units including the 60th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 35th Surgical Operations Squadron, 673rd Healthcare Operations Squadron, and 39th Air Base Wing.
