Royal Thai 1st Special Forces Division, Malaysian Armed Forces and U.S. Special Operations Detachment Pacific service members conduct case of action development training in Korat, Thailand, March 5, 2025, during Exercise Cobra Gold. COA is a detailed plan outlining the sequence of actions and steps a unit or force will take to achieve a specific military objective: a strategy that specifies how to utilize available resources and capabilities to reach a goal on the battlefield. SOD-P provides trained, prepared, and equipped augmentation to the U.S. Army Special Forces Operations Command and U.S. Special Operations Command Pacific. SOCPAC serves as the operational component command for all SOF missions throughout the Indo-Pacific region. Cobra Gold is the largest joint and combined exercise in mainland Asia, held annually in Thailand, showcasing the U.S. commitment to the region by building interoperability, multilateral cooperative arrangements, and advancing common interests through a commitment to allies and partners in ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific.
