ATLANTIC OCEAN (March 10, 2025) – Sailors prepare for ammo on load aboard the USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28). The Fort Lauderdale is underway conducting advanced tactical training and rigorous multi-domain exercises designed to enhance warfighting effectiveness and interoperability. Fort Lauderdale is part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, a force uniquely positioned to deter aggression, project power through presence abroad, and execute contingency missions with its integrated Marine Corps team in support of U.S. strategic interests. The IWO ARG is comprised of its flagship namesake Iwo Jima, the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17), and San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28).
