Cmdr. Jason W. Stewart, executive officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9) shows a Japanese college student how to use a Navy infrared thermal imager during a tour of the ship. Students from various colleges in Fukuoka Prefecture participated in a tour of Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo organized by the Fukuoka American Center in cooperation with the base. The tour is intended to give Japanese college students a better understanding of the U.S. Navy's role in the U.S. and Japan alliance.
