Randy “Church” Kee, Director of the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies, greets participants of the German National General/Admiral Staff Officer Course (NGASOC) during a study tour at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, on March 12, 2025. NGASOC participants spent two days at JBER engaging with faculty from the School for Arctic Security Studies as part of their capstone course. Discussions led by faculty focused on regional security frameworks, operational and logistical challenges, weather impacts, and great power competition in the Arctic. The visit provided a critical opportunity for NGASOC participants to gain insight into how the U.S. military navigates and operates in this demanding environment, reinforcing the importance of joint, interagency, and international cooperation.
