(March 20, 2025) Acting Secretary of the Navy Terence Emmert left and Commander Vincent Simmon, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71), observe a tactical scenario simulation in Ross’ combat information center during a visit to Ross and the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) at Naval Station Norfolk, March 20, 2025. Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic is responsible for manning, training and equipping assigned surface forces and shore activities, ensuring a capable and combat-ready force to support U.S. national interests.
