Lt. Col. Jonathan Nielsen, commander of 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), participates in the 173rd Airborne Brigade Innovation Symposium at Caserma Ederle on March 26, 2025. The symposium brought together leaders and innovators from across the airborne community to exchange ideas and enhance operational capabilities.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
