U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Jason Benedict, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, joint terminal attack controller instructor, coordinates an airstrike with an A-10 Thunderbolt II during a close air support exercise at Warren Grove Training Range, N.J., March 11, 2025. Benedict was one of the evaluators for the training, in which 25th Marine Regiment JTACs were recertified based on their successful completion of the training that included both live target coordinated air and artillery strikes. A JTAC is a qualified service member who directs the action of military assets engaged in close land and air support for offensive operations from a forward position.
