2nd Lt. Makenna Sloan, of the 17th Field Artillery Brigade, is promoted to 1st Lt. during a live-fire exercise at Orchard Combat Training Center, Idaho, on March 22, 2025. The promotion ceremony marked a significant milestone in her career, recognizing her dedication and leadership in the U.S. Army.
Her words of advice: “Don’t be afraid to fail but always learn from it. Stay humble, and having a positive attitude can go a long way!” Sloan, an Adjutant General Officer, adds, “Getting to experience this promotion during a live-fire exercise was extra special.”
