Volunteers repaint “no parking” curbs at Ke’ehi Lagoon Beach Park as part of an Eagle Service project on Sunday Mar. 9, 2025. More than 20 Navy volunteers joined Scouts from Troop 75 of Scouting America, Aloha Council to repaint “no parking” curbs and cover up graffiti to improve the appearance and safety of the park for users. The community service project was organized by Moanalua High School sophomore and JROTC cadet Casey Kobayashi, who is earning his Eagle Badge, the highest rank achievable in Scouting America. Teamwork and unity are core components of the Navy mission. They also serve as the foundation of Laulima Navy, a year-long initiative launched in 2024 to highlight the many ways that Navy personnel in Hawaii support the community.
