NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY NAPLES, Italy (March 28, 2025) Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Elias Ortiz, assigned to Naval Hospital Naples, Italy, participates in the oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray confidence course, March 28, 2025. OC spray is the culminating event of the Security Reaction Force – Basic (SRF-B); a two-week course consisting of small unit tactics, mechanical apprehension control and weapons training. During the confidence course, Sailors are exposed to OC spray and are subsequently met with a series of scenarios that require a mastery of the previous two weeks of training. NSA Naples is an operational base, home to over 50 commands and 8,500 personnel, providing crucial support for U.S. and allied forces across Europe, Africa, and the Central Command's areas of responsibility. From air and port operations to force protection and logistics, the base ensures combat readiness while prioritizing the well-being of service members and their families.
