Connolly during his funeral at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., March 27, 2025. Connolly was assigned to the USS Oklahoma (BB 37), which was moored at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, when it was attacked by Japanese aircraft. The battleship sustained multiple torpedo hits and capsized, resulting in the deaths of 429 crewmen.
