Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation

Maj. Dustin Freeman, assigned to the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) in Orlando, Florida, reads the Medal of Honor citation for Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn C. Cashe during a memorial plaque unveiling ceremony on March 29 outside the Seminole County Courthouse in Sanford, Florida. The new plaques honoring Cashe and fellow Medal of Honor recipient Staff Sgt. Robert J. Miller were the results of an Eagle Scout project by 17-year-old William Watts of Longwood, Florida. Watts gathered the support of Soldiers and Army civilians from PEO STRI, county government officials, and members of the local community to honor the two men who have family ties to Seminole County and are buried in local cemeteries.
