250401-O-NJ594-1043, Portsmouth, Virginia (Apr. 1, 2025) - The Navy and Marine Corps Force Health Protection Command (NMCFHPC) hosts a cake-cutting ceremony commemorating the Chief’s Petty Officer Corps 132nd birthday, Apr. 1, 2025, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia, building 3, on the 10th floor quarterdeck. During the ceremony Chief Eric Garcia, a biomedical equipment technician, with the NMCFHPC provided closing remarks. Chief Petty Officers are the backbone of the Navy. They are the embodiment of leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to duty. By guiding and inspiring junior and senior sailors alike, they ensure that sailors are prepared for any situation that may arise. Garcia added, “Today is an opportunity to reflect on our shared history, strengthen ties within our mess, and honor the tradition of service that ensures our Navy’s success in any mission, happy birthday Chiefs.” (Navy photos by Desmond Martin)
