Master Chief Hospital Corpsman Dante Cooley, senior enlisted leader for operations, and Chief Hospital Corpsman Caitlin Barrera, assistant director of the Regional Reserve Program for Naval Medical Forces Pacific, cut the first piece of cake to be presented to the most senior chief petty officer during the 132nd chief petty officer birthday celebration at Naval Medical Forces Pacific on April 1, 2025. The second piece is traditionally presented to the youngest chief present, symbolizing the mentorship that experienced Sailors provide to those who will continue the Navy’s traditions. The rank of chief petty officer was established April 1, 1893, evolving from petty officer first class and representing a pinnacle of enlisted leadership and tradition. (Navy photo by Arsenio R.
