Republic of Korea Navy Lt. Choi, Kyubin, with the ROK Pohang Naval Base hospital, second from right, describes the aspects of a field expedient operating room to corpsmen with 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, following a combined mass casualty training scenario during the Korean Marine Exchange Program at Pohang Naval Base, Pohang-si, South Korea, March 6, 2025. The 3rd MLG and ROKN corpsmen conducted the training to recover, triage, and treat simulated casualties as a combined medical force. KMEP is a semi-annual exercise that provides iterative opportunities for ROK Marine Corps and U.S. Marine Corps units to train together, improving their combined capabilities to deter threats and maintain peace on the Korean Peninsula.
