Illinois Army National Guard Lt. Col. Christopher Jenkins of Bloomington served as the Master of Ceremonies for the Joint Force Medical Detachment Change of Command Ceremony. Jenkins is the deputy commander of the unit. Col. Jayson Coble of Lincoln relinquished command of the unit to Lt. Col. Melinda Weller of Springfield during the April 4 ceremony on Camp Lincoln in Springfield. Coble is now the Illinois Army National Guard's State Surgeon. With the unit's assistance, the Illinois Army National Guard has maintained among the top medical readiness rates in the nation. In his civilian life, Coble is an emergency medicine physician's assistant within the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS). Weller is a registered nurse for the State of Illinois.
