CHESAPEAKE, Va. (April 05, 2025) Commanding officer of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) Capt. Trace Head speaks during the closing ceremony of the 14th Annual Chesapeake Bataan Death March Memorial Walk at the Great Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, April 5. The event also featured up to a 16.6 mile walk and run and multiple sponsor tents. The Bataan is currently undergoing repairs while dry docked in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard.
