The U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial during a cloudy spring day in Arlington, Virginia, April 7, 2025. The memorial is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in defense of the United States since 1775 and is inspired by the iconic photograph of Marines raising the American flag on Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima. Marines and visitors from across the country visit this historic site to reflect on the legacy of honor, courage and commitment which continue defining our Corps 250 years since its founding.
