The Captain Freeman project, a non-profit organization that collects pens, pencils and paper to distribute in war-torn countries pays tribute to Capt. Matthew Freeman, a marine pilot who volunteered for a ground unit mission in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Capt. Freeman was killed in action shortly after arriving in theater in August 2009; his legacy now lives on through the Captain Matthew Freeman project. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
