High water impacts recreation areas at Broken Bow Lake, April 9, 2025. At the time the photo was taken, the lake was 12.50 feet above normal, with releases of 3,297 cubic feet per second being made through the hydropower unit. Recreation areas around the lake are managed by the Oklahoma State Park System, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, manages the dam and water releases. Broken Bow Lake is a strong example of federal and state partnership in action. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers photo by Stacey Reese/released)
