U.S. Marine Corps retired Master Sergeant Julia Carlson, a Provo, Utah native, aims her rifle downrange while Marines zero their rifles in preparation for the annual Marine Corps Championships, hosted by Weapons Training Battalion at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, April 10, 2025. Carlson was the first female to graduate the Small Arms Weapon Instructor School and the first female to ever win the competition since the induction in 1902.
