Michael Logico, the deputy commander of Transportation Command; U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Jered Helwig, deputy commander of United States Transportation Command; Maj. Gen. Gavin Gardner, commanding general of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command; and Brig. Gen. Martine Kidd, the director for logistics and engineering (J4), assigned to United States Indo-Pacific Command, receive a tour of the combined joint logistics over the shore from U.S. Navy Capt. Kelly Mahaffey, commodore for task force combined joint logistics over the shore, assigned to Naval Beach Group 1, during Salaknib 2025, at Dingalan Bay, Philippines, on April 9, 2025. Combined joint logistics over the shore demonstrate the Philippine and U.S. forces' critical capability of bringing vehicles and equipment to the shore in austere environments or when port facilities are unavailable and aims to improve logistics, interoperability, communication, and cooperation between the U.S. and the Philippines. Salaknib 2025 is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. Military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
