Soldiers in range control towers like this, overlooking mock towns, are able to adjust the intensity for visiting "Dagger" Brigade soldiers, at Fort Irwin, Calif. The intensity includes such things as smoke, various sounds one might hear in a village including an attack, and a variety of smells including vomit and burning flesh. It is designed to stress the soldiers in training rather than have it happen in combat.
