The 167th Theater Sustainment Command Soldier was runner-up in the 2013 Alabama Army National Guard Soldier of the Year competition, and will go on to represent the state at the Region III competition in Eastover, S.C., at the end of April. The Alabama Army National Guard named the Soldier of the Year and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year in a ceremony on Fort McClellan, March 28, 2013. The week-long competition kicked off Monday, and pitted soldiers against a wide variety of tests to assess their overall soldiering skills, including an essay, land navigation, physical fitness, weapons expertise and a six-mile road march.
