The right hand and forearm of U.S. Army Pvt. Fred Hemminger, Co. G, 183rd Pennsylvania, who sustained a gunshot wound during the Battle of Wilderness on May 6, 1864. Pvt. Hemminger died of a tetanus infection on May 18, 1864. [AFIP 0384703]
