A tomb covered in overgrown vegetation lies within the 18th Munitions Squadron storage area at Kadena Air Base, Japan, April 9, 2025. The vegetation is cleared with care so no damage is done to the tomb in preparation for Shimi, a yearly Okinawan custom to show appreciation to one’s ancestors held at the beginning of April.
