U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Jessica Castro, 349th Medical Squadron registered nurse and Diabetes educator, provides nutritional education and meal planning tips to Kittitian residents during a health fair at the Newtown Community Health Center in Newtown, St. Kitts and Nevis, April 2, 2025. Castro and a team of Reserve Citizen Airmen conducted health screenings, offered preventative healthcare education, and led dietary and nutrition classes during a health fair held as part of the Lesser Antilles Medical Assistance Team (LAMAT) 2025 global health engagement. LAMAT mobilizes service members to support Caribbean communities by providing specialized medical care and easing the burden on host nation healthcare providers, while also enhancing the readiness and training of participating personnel through real-world, hands-on experience.
