During flight, the crew chief, Sgt. J.R. Murphy, attached to Helicopter Light Attack Squadron 367, looks over the horizon with his .50-cal machine gun to scan for any enemy targets that might be endangering to his UH-1N Huey attack helicopter. As a door gunner/crew chief, his mission is to protect his aircraft by providing heavy gun suppression and to support ground forces with indirect fire capabilities.
