Spc. Corey Beaty conducts training on Observation Post Occupation during 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade’s Multi-Functional Live Fire Exercise at Hohenfels Training Area, Germany, April 11–17, 2025.
The Multi-Functional Live Fire Exercise featured advanced joint training events, including Live First Person View (FPV) Drone Strike operations, Army Attack Aviation training with AH-64 Apache helicopters from the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade and UH-72 Lakota helicopters from the 7th Army Training Command. The exercise also included live Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) conducted with fires from 4th Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
