PANAMA CITY, Panama (April 23, 2025) – Mayer Mizrachi Matalon, the Mayor of Panama City, streams a live video in front of the USCGC Eagle (WIX 327) while it travels through the Panama Canal on its way to Puntarenas, Costa Rica on April 23, 2025. USCGC Eagle serves as a training platform for cadets from the United States Coast Guard Academy. During its transit of the Panama Canal, members of the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN) of Panama were invited to ride along to expand coordination, collaboration, and knowledge sharing capabilities in the Central-American region.
