FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s senior enlisted leaders facilitated a weekend workshop for first sergeants across the commonwealth at the 166th Regiment – Regional Training Institute here April 26-27. Workshop content focused on topics to better enable first sergeants to lead and care for their Soldiers.
Command Sgt. Maj. James Brian Kendrick, 14th command sergeant major of the Army National Guard, shares his thoughts on the role first sergeants play in leading the future Army National Guard force. “You’re where the rubber meets the road,” he said. “If you’re doing your jobs well, problems don’t make their way up to the state level. Taking care of your Soldiers is what it’s all about!” (Pennsylvania National Guard photo by Wayne V. Hall)
