Army sergeants, Sgt. Kevin Kenna (left) and Staff Sgt. Zachary Liles (right) of the North Carolina National Guard's 42nd Civil Support Team's survey section prepare to enter a simulated Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) incident site in attempt to verify possible contaminants during the unit's evaluation here, March 28. The unit, headquartered in Greenville, is designed to support civil authorities by identifying CBRN agents/substances, assessing current and projected consequences, provide advice on response measures and assist with request for additional support with other agencies. The 42nd CST conducted the training as part of a National Guard Bureau proficiency training evaluation in an effort to remain mission ready. Army Lt. Gen. Bill Caldwell, Joint Forces Land Component Commander, U.S. Army - North, praised the unit for their commitment, proficiency and professionalism after their evaluation was complete.
