As approximately 100 people watch on, Dr. Mowaffak Baqer al-Rubaie, the Iraqi national security advisor, cuts a ceremonial ribbon in front of the newly built 24,000 square-foot small arms repair facility, May 21. The small arms repair facility is the first of 20 new facilities to be constructed on the premises of the Taji National Depot in the coming year. The facility provides the Iraqi army the ability to rebuild AK 47, M-16 and M-4 riffles, rocket propelled grenade launchers, and Glock 9mm pistols, to name a few. "This is very important for the Iraqi army," said Baqer al-Rubaie "Thank you very much to MNSTC-I and the coalition forces - thank you very much." (U.S. Army photo/Staff Sgt. Bryant Maude)
