Sergeant Major Michael L. Kufchak, the former 1st Marine Division sergeant major, hands the noncommissioned officer sword to Maj. Gen. Ronald L. Bailey, the 1st Marine Division commanding general, during a post, relief and retirement ceremony here, April 5, 2013. The sword represented the transfer of responsibility from the outgoing sergeant major to his replacement.
