U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Travis Miller, 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron loadmaster, loads pallets of supplies on a C-17 Globemaster III, March 30, 2013. The loadmaster performs calculations and plans cargo and passenger placement to keep aircraft within permissible center of gravity limits throughout flight. Loadmasters ensure cargo is placed on aircraft in such a way as to prevent overloading sensitive sections of the airframe and cargo floor.
