Midshipmen 3rd Class James Frevola hangs a flower pot in the Street Beautification project at Fells Point during the Celebration of the War of 1812 Bicentennial. Navy Week Baltimore is one of the signature events around the country commemorating the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the Star-Spangled Banner. The commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 (June 13-19); is a salute to all sailors and Marines who fought gallantly in that conflict, who served in all our nation's conflicts since then, and who are defending freedom around the world. The Navy week is part of Baltimore's Star Spangled celebration and commemorates the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the writing of the Star Spangled Banner. The United States Navy and its partners will commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 from 2012 to 2015, honoring all who fought and continue to defend safe passage on the sea.
