U.S. Marines and Sailors assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) enjoy a cookout on the flight deck of the ship, eating food, playing games, and relaxing in the sun while at sea April 13, 2013. The MEU is currently deployed as part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group to the 5th Fleet area of operation. The 26th MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.
