    Special Operations Command South

Army Chief Warrant Officer Benjamin Sales, a communications officer for Special Operations Command South, conducts a jumpmaster personnel inspection, or JMPI, on a fellow paratrooper prior to an airborne operation April 16 at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla. A JMPI is done in order to ensure the safety of each jumper as they exit the aircraft. This operation allows airborne-qualified personnel assigned to SOCSOUTH to maintain current airborne proficiency and mission readiness in response to any contingency response force in the command's area of responsibility, which spans from the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
