Marines and sailors with the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group Joint Color Guard render honors during the playing of the national anthem during a reception held in the hangar bay of USS Peleliu after the ships of the ARG pulled in to Hong Kong, April 15. The reception was held to welcome guests and foreign dignitaries to the ship and gave senior leaders the opportunity to expand on personal and professional relationships. The Hong Kong port visit provided the Marines and sailors of the Peleliu ARG an opportunity for leisure and cultural exchange. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of the Peleliu ARG and is comprised of approximately 2,400 Marines and sailors. Together with Amphibious Squadron Three, they provide a forward-deployed, flexible sea-based Marine Air Ground Task Force capable of conducting a wide variety of operations ranging from humanitarian aid to combat.
