Members of Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star's small boat crew are lowered into the water to retrieve the Oscar dummy during their man overboard exercise which they practice for crew readiness in the event that a real man overboard ever occurs, April 2, 2013. Polar Star has spent more than six years in caretaker status and before the crew can embark on their Arctic and Antarctic mission, they set out on a two-week shakedown voyage to ensure that not only Polar Star is working at optimal capabilities, but also the crew is properly trained and ready.
