Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond, a Hattiesburg, Miss., native, presents Spc. Joe Jenkins, a Weston, W. Va., native, with a Bronze Star Medal during a ceremony at Forward Operating Base War Eagle on May 30. Jenkins, an engineer with the 821st Horizontal Engineer Company, which is attached to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, and other members of his company were awarded for their efforts to help construct a wall in the southern portion of the Sadr City District of Baghdad that now acts as a protective buffer for markets to return to business in the district. Hammond commands the 4th Inf. Div. and MND-B.
