An Australian Army bugler sounds “Last Post,” at the USS Peary monument during a Battle of Coral Sea ceremony, marking its 71st anniversary, here, May 3. During the battle, the Japanese failed to capture New Guinea, saving Australia from isolation of U.S. support. The battle was a draw, and the Japanese eventually surrendered.
