Active-duty Marines, veterans and community members pose with the ceremonial cake April 27 at Nimitz Beach, Guam, as part of the 3rd annual “Once a Marine, Always a Marine” barbecue. The cook-out was organized by local veterans with help from the 3rd Marine Division Association as a way to continue the camaraderie the Marine Corps is known for and show appreciation for the positive impact the Marine visiting the island for Exercise Guahan Shield have had on Guam. The Marines are part of Combat Logistics Detachment 39, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, in Guam to participate in Exercise Guahan Shield.
