Corporal Edwin Aguinaldo Jr., a section chief serving with Kilo Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, attached to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines, and Cpl. John Hoskins, Aguinaldo's assistant section chief, make adjustments to an M777 Lightweight Howitzer during Exercise Desert Scimitar, a live-fire training exercise, here, May 2, 2013. Aguinaldo, a native of Kapolie, Hawaii, and Hoskins, a native of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., worked with several Marines to fire the weapon. The exercise focused on the training and preparation of 1st Marine Division as the ground combat element of a Marine Air-Ground Task Force.
