Sgt. Larry Sloan, a UH-60 "Black Hawk" helicopter crew chief with Foxtrot “Jigsaw” Company, 1st Battalion, 169th Aviation Regiment, New York National Guard, Task Force Falcon, exercises at the "Jigsaw" compound gym April 26 at Combat Outpost Shukvani in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Affectionately dubbed the "prison gym," Sloan, a UH-60 "Black Hawk" helicopter mechanic from Caledonia, N.Y., said it's all about making do with what you have. It's a mentality he said that has pervaded the group's successful efforts to bring crews from the national guards of New York, New Hampshire, Missouri and Pennsylvania. "I think we have the best mission," he said. "Saving lives, for soldiers but especially for Afghan nationals, it proves our good will."
