Carte says he was incredibly excited when he heard he had been selected to participate in the games. The Hollister, California native sustained a back injury while on assignment in Iraq in 2006. Since 2010, the Warrior Games have brought together wounded, ill or injured service members to compete in a goodwill competition. This year, the Warrior Games will include wounded warriors from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Special Operations Command and the United Kingdom.
