Gen. John F. Campbell, U.S. Army vice chief of staff, and Maj. Gen. Kevin R. Wendel, commanding general First Army, walk with Maj. Gen. R. Martin Umbarger, adjutant general of Indiana through a mock village, one of the unique training venues at Muscatatuck, near Butlerville, Ind., May 18. The village included role-players, live animals, and realistic sounds and smells. While touring the training facilities, Campbell visited members of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy assigned to the Provincial Reconstruction Teams and other civilian contractors preparing for deployment overseas, aerial flights, and ground tours observing the more 35,000 acres of maneuver training areas located at Atterbury near Edinburgh, Ind., as well as observing the nearly 1,000-acre, world-class advanced urban training facilities located at Muscatatuck near Butlerville, Ind.
