University of Georgia "Georgette" dancer Courtney Alvis leads a cheer at the Thunder over Augusta celebration held May 18 at the Evans Towne Center Park in Evans, Georgia. Alvis, an Evans native, joined over 20,000 visitors in recognizing Armed Forces Day with what is considered the largest privately funded military celebration in the nation.
