U.S. Sailors assigned to the USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), have a water fight during a Steel Beach Picnic on the flight deck of the USS Kearsarge at sea, May 25, 2013. The 26th MEU is deployed to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility aboard the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group. The 26th MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.
